Linda, let me give you some words of wisdom that were given to me by our
district eagle advancement chair when I said that I was concerned about
a scout who is not showing scout spirit and I believe that once he earns
his eagle badge he will leave scouting. "Follow what is in your heart
and remember that you may regret your decision if you don't and the boy
does something to shed a bad light on scouting"
I still don't have a decision on this scout but what I do have it the
committee's backing to support me in telling the scout, that I need to
see an improvement in scout spirit before I sign his project and then he
needs to truly show scout spirit before I sign his application.
You may consider doing the same with this young man and as the
advancement chair told me "don't do it alone bring in the committee".
