My 1939 copy of the "Handbook for Boys" has an ad for the Lima Cord Sole and
Heel Company of Lima, Ohio who, at that, time manufactured Gro-Cord and
Raw-Cord soles and heels. The ad states that Gro-Cord and Raw-Cord soles and
heels were adopted for regulation Scout Shoes more than ten years prior to
that date.
As an interesting --to me anyway-- aside the same printing of the Handbook
has an illistration of a troop flag. The wool version size 4 1/3' x 5 1/2'
cost $5.50. The
flag pictured is for Troop No. 1, Ravenna, Kentucky!
Yours in the spirit of Scouting,
