Re: Committee Meetings

My venture unit Exec Committee meets every month on a Wednesday evening
(normal unit meetings are on a Friday). Meetings usually last for around
two hours, depending on how much there is to discuss. Since all of the
Exec are members of the Unit, we obviously can't meet on Fridays, but we
do sometimes all agree to arrive fifteen minutes early if there are urgent
issues, or just to sort out domestic stuff like signing cheques and
distributing information. This is very useful - does anyone else do it?

I don't know if this is of any relevance to the person who originally
posted the question, but the Venture Scout Exec Committee training course
"Getting Organised" has quite a lot of useful stuff about running
effective committee meetings. It sounds like some of the meetings which
people have mentioned aren't very effective - so maybe this would be a
useful resource in any discussion about meeting times etc :)

David

PS - Sorry this is a bit out of date - I had some problems posting
which should now be sorted out!
