Hi!

The welcome message for Scouts-L said to post an introductory message
before you start posting anything else - so here it is!

I am an 18 year old first year student at Oxford University, Oxford,
England studying Maths and Computing. I live in Ewell, England, which is
about 15 miles South West of the centre of London. For those of you who
are also British (or like Horse Racing), this is very close to Epsom where
the Derby is held every year.

My Scout Group is 4th Ewell (Nonsuch) Scout Group, where I have been in
Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and now Venture Scouts since I was 6 years old!
(Sry - I don't know the equivalents in other countries)
This is in the district of Epsom and Ewell, in the county of Surrey.
Last year, I was Treasurer of the Venture Unit (Nonsuch VSU), a job which
my brother is now doing(!). NVSU has about 25 members, and the Scout
Troop has about 60 Scouts.

Since I am now away at college for most of the year, I am more involved
with the Oxford University Scout and Guide Group. This is part of SSAGO,
the national organisation of Student Scout and Guide Groups.

If any of the Americans (or anyone else) out there want to know more about
Scouting in Britain, or wants to know about things I've done, please feel
free to mail me or the list (the address is below), although I'm sure
there are people on the list who know much more about British Scouting
than me! Please note I *may* not be able to send messages during
University vacations, although I will still be reading the list.
(It should be OK, if Kami does not go down).

Anyway, I think I have rambled on for long enough....

David
