After the SM conference I tell the Scout he needs to talk to the Committee
Chair to set up a BoR (no problem as she's at many of the meetings). The
Committee meets after the first Troop meeting of each month and is always
available at that time. She also schedules BoRs at other times if there's
a need that can't wait a few weeks (ie. CoH coming up or if he can't be
there on the first).
Probably the most memoriable Board we've ever had was in the dining car of
an east-bound train (somewhere in Iowa, I think) on the way home from a High
Adventure in Colorado. The Scout had finished up his requirements & we had
enough Scouters along who could do it. We also do them at summer camp
(memorable for the Scout if the camp director or other staff can take the time).
