The response to bereavement differs between individuals. Denial is a part
of that process ... other responses include guilt ( if only I'd been a
better friend / hadn't bullied him in first grade ... ) ... blame ( God, the
school system ... often irrational )
Some counselors say it is necessary to work through all these stages, but
individuals do so at different paces and in different orders. Yes, your
adults need to be there for your Scouts. I would suggest that you also
obtain details of local counseling services and " be prepared " if one of
your Scouts or adults need something more than your Troop can offer.
