An award announcement

O.K., you guys are the ONLY two lists I'm on that my oldest son isn't - and
neither of us is on Arrow-l due to overload - but spread the word, anybody
has K2BSA's addresses let them know, but send any notes to him at
kb9ktg@kwom.com, and share some advice with me.

First, my son Matt completed his review for the Exploring G.O.L.D. award on
10/28. We turn everything in at Northwest Suburban council (and I assume pay
for ordering the stuff, too) today. At the moment this is the top Exploring
award but with them about to re-introduce the Silver Award it becomes a
stepping stone. As I said, anyone with congratulations, send it to him and
save John from losing space on the one list and keep me out of Doug's hair
since he probably never recovered from the Jambo photo escapade.

Second - and I expect Mr. Walton will weigh in here - as a relatively new
award, what do other Councils do for recognition. Technically a national
level award its work and review is done at the unit level, so I have no
reference as to what has been done to present it (it being a relatively new
award itself - less than 2 years old, I think) anyplace.

Suggestions for that can come back to me.

Thanks for the help,

Tom Petrik
