My basic reponce to people that have problems and hangups is not
normally fit for a public forum :) ... Basically who cares comes to mind.

Again who cares? The BSA is not a branch of the military. Therefor we
are not subject to the various rules and regs that the military likes to
follow to the letter (Or close to it at least ... commanders perogative
comes into play a bit). Sounds to me like someone on that base/post needs
a quick reminder of how teens act and express themselves.

Thing is, there is nothing in the guide specifically prohibiting the
wearing of earrings either is there?

This is a touchy subject in my opinion and I won't take up 10 pages of
text here :)
