Well I was kinda with you right up until this point. It is instantly
assumed that someone that pierces somthing other than an ear is displaying
gang type jewelry? I wear a red colored hat. Am I displaying gang colors?
Guess so, so I suppose I should stop that right away right? Hrm I wear
Nike and Rebock shoes. Wait! Gang members do that also don't they? Suppose
I'll have to stop wearing those as well. And for what its worth, every
teen I have delt with to date that has gone beyond ears has shown nothing
gang related. I mean shoot, I was served at McDonalds by a femal with more
than ears done up. Was I repulesed? Not in the least little bit. Why? I
suppose it has to do with the fact that I have leared to respect other
people'c choices pretty well. In a round about technical sense you could
call this a cultural thing (Teen Culture).
