National Programme Commissioners' Forum
The National Programme Commissioners' Forum was held near Helsinki,
=46inland, from 6-10 September. It attracted more than 90 participants from
25 countries. The aim of the event was to enable respresentatives of Guide
and Scout associations in Europe to share ideas, experiences and tools
relating to youth programme development and implementation. The event was a
great success, but reviewing and adapting youth programmes to the changing
needs and aspirations of adolescents and young people will certainly remain
a top priority for several years to come.

Euro Y Information
Euro Y Information Centres developed activities for young people during the
summer. Stevninghus Spedercenter in Denmark has welcomed lots of young
people and offered them the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the
new technology in the field of communication. Feux Nouveau - M=E9lan in
=46rance connected to the Internet and can now offer to their visitors the
possibility of searching on the Web and exploring the Euro Y Info web site.
Carrick GCB in Belgium worked a lot on the promotion of the project. They
helped in developing the Euro Y Info web site and participated in the
organisation of Euro Y Info workshops during Eurofolk. Pfadfinderdorf
Zellhof in Austria hosted a Euro Y Info seminar in August. Participants
from all over the World discovered the project, developed new tools and
updated the Euro Y Info web site. They organised activities with the
campers staying at the Centre giving them the opportunity to familiarize
themselves with new technology. They all encourage you to explore the Euro
Y Info web site at the following address :

'Autumn is upon us, and a new 'year' has begun for our Scouts and Guides.
They will look back to the summer - to their camps, the friendships made,
the activities tried, the skills learned. More importantly, they will start
to look forward to the future - where will they go, what will they do, who
will they meet? This is what is important for them - and so, therefore, for
us. We are here to help all of these young people to develop themselves in
every way we can - they are our future. Let us not forget that in the
months ahead.'
