I have a friend who writes for an outdoors magazine who writes about Bass
Fishing "Step 1: Build an addition on your house." or something similar.
I never would have thought about the Scouting stuff I've accumulated until we
moved and ran out of space and put in a small shed (you could park a car and
have room left for a motorcycle gang) in the back yard. The loft - just the
loft - is camping/cooking/backpacking/sleeping bag territory.
The rest of the place has everything from the Merit Badge Midway office sign
from Jamboree to boots to ...well we don't know what else because even
spending one full weekend trying to sort it out we never got to the walls.
But you can at least walk in and climb to the loft now if you move the Bikes
we added.
I've been at this 32 years now. Anybody with less time, this is your future
unless you plan for it now. My first Cub Scout Basic instructor told me "
never throw away anything, you'll find a time you'll need it" and evidently
the whole family took that to heart. Trust me, that attitude has changed with
the oldest boy in Exploring.

P.S.- The Exploring stuff? It fits in a file cabinet and the 16-year-old
files it.
