Announcement: Open House at Fermilab

Kasley, Paul (kasley@FNAL.GOV)
Mon, 25 Aug 1997 14:36:01 -0500

For those of you in or near the Chicago area, you may want to consider
this for a troop or pack day trip, or make an announcement to your
Scouts and their families. Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory near
Batavia,Illinois (roughly midway between downtown Chicago and DeKalb,
IL) will hold an open house on Saturday, September 13, between 10:30AM
and 4:00PM.

Fermilab is the site of the world's most powerful particle accelerator
("atom smasher"). Our last open house was in 1992. Visitors will have
the opportunity to tour areas of the Lab not normally open to the
public, including actual experiment halls, an accelerator tunnel, and
the computing center.

If you have questions or need further info, contact me and I'll do my
best.

Regards,
Paul Kasley
