A new scout, at age 10.5, has 7.5 years to advance to Eagle. Some
require all of that time. Some, much less.
As for advancement pressure, one of the duties of the registered adults
is to get trained for their positions. At training, they'll learn that
the aims of scouting are to build character, citizenship & fitness. Of
the 8 methods of scouting, only one is advancement.
Scouting is not about building Eagle scouts, and pushy parents should be
educated to what Scouting is all about.
