Which raises the aditional question, what happens when you are
expected to "actively serve"....? What does it mean to serve? Service
implies actual performance of some duty or other? If I serve my District
as Advancement Chairman, but I do not perform the duties as prescribed
in BSA policy, such as maintaining a MB counselor list, or any other
duty, and merely hold the title.... whom have I served? I contend... no one.
I have not met the obligation which I made upon accesptance of the
position. Ideally, the District Committee Chairman should remove me and
find someone who will "actively serve".

I must agree with those who believe that "active service" in a leadership
position means more than merely holding a title for a specified period of
time.
