"Ropes" courses

Our Pack has an opportunity to use a Boy and Girls Club Camp near our
town. It has excellent facilities. It also has a ropes course. What is
a "ropes" course and does it require any special training? This camp uses
this course with Cub age kids. Is a ropes course the same as COPE?
