Re: AOL And Crossover

Tom, I am a very big supporter of an early cross over. The feeder pack
that I have cross the 2nd year Webelos over at the Blue and Gold if they
have their AOL . The B&G is usually in February. We have found this to
really keep the boys interest in scouting alive and gets a few campouts
under their belts before summer camp vs. those who cross in June.

One other thing that we do is to host a Webelos Weekend at the troop
level in March. This allows the new boys to feel like Boy Scouts while
still being in a comfortable setting with the 1st year Webelos. It also
allows them to work on some of their advancement.
