Thanks for the kind words Jean. We in Samoset Council (Where camping is
King! <tm>) are very proud of both of these camps, located on 1100 acres of
beautiful northern woodlands near Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Camp Tesomas is
our primary Scout Camp, with all sessions booked solid for this summer and
over 2300 Scouts expected to attend one of the 8 week-long sessions. Please
feel free to check out the Tesomas Web page <www.tesomas.com> an outstanding
site for an outstanding camp, both due to the hard work and dedication of
Camp Director CJM.

Akela's World, as Jean mentioned, is our Cub Scout Resident Camp. There are
8, three-night sessions for Webelos and 4, two-night sessions for Cubs. I'm
not sure how the numbers are shaping up for this year, but in the past, the
Webelos Camps have been filled to capacity (and maybe a little beyond),
while the Cub Scout sessions have averaged around 80% of capacity. The
program areas include: Shooting Sports, Paul Bunyon's Logging Camp (with a
shelter shaped like Babe the Blue Ox), Fort Akela, the Native American
Village (with three permanent "tipis") and the Lost Ship. Although it
couldn't be done in time for this year, there are plans to add a new program
area, Baloo's Cave, where the boys will pan for gold. I'm not sure about all
the details of this area, but I can hardly wait to see it in action.

Thanks all, for putting up with this shameless promotion of our Council's
Camps ;{)

YiS,
