Thanks, Jon for taking your time to serve as list owner. I hear from other
'owners' of all the administrative overhead involved. We are all much
apprectiative.

I signed on several years ago to just keep in touch with scouting- being
one of 5 eagle brothers and with an eagle son (now 30 yrs old) and a Silver
Beaver vigil honor Dad. We were a scouting family and its hard to get the
red and khaki out of your veins. I've learned how Scouting has changed
(two deep; YPP, etc) so when our grandson (his Mom was a GSUSA First Class)
starts cubs next year- we'll be ready.

Some of my most treasured memories are from my Scouting days of my youth.
Knot tying still comes in handy as does tree identification. Yes we have
poison ivy on our property- which I learned early on how to recognize.
Order of the Arrow participation taught me Roberts' Rules of Order back in
my High School days- which comes in handy at church meetings sometimes. I
could go on illustrating how what we learned is still of use today- but you
know all that.

To those around the cyberfire- thanks for the companionship. Speaking of
fires- several years ago over Christmas- I had the honor and duty to lay a
fire in my folk's fireplace to be lit with one match (hey- no problem :-) )

I'm especially appreciative of the SM minutes which are posted from time to
time. I've sent them on to other lists with positive feedback.

FWIW- Mike Bowman and I are getting together for lunch on Wed when he comes
back home here for a visit- always nice to put a face to the EMail.

Thanks again Jon for all your work and to the others for their input.

YIS
