Just a few words of thanks for all the work that Jon does to make Scouts-L
possible.

I've been a part of the Scouts-L family for 4-5 years now. During that time
I've had the opportunity to get to know scouters from around the world. I've
learned things that I would never have known otherwise. I've gained friends
that I would never have met. Scouts-L has become a resource that I value
highly.

In 1994 we were making plans to travel to Purdue for NOAC. The adviser for the
trip was having difficulty finding a place to spend the night on the way to
NOAC. I told him I would see what I could do. A short note to Scouts-L and
within a couple of hours, I had not only found a scout camp but I had
reservations for both legs of the trip. Thanks to a couple of my Scouts-L
friends (Thanks, Dr. Steve and Paul Wolff) in the Akron/Cleveland area, we
spent a couple of nights at a beautiful scout camp. Those nights were among
the highlights of the trip.

In 1993 we were able to have an in person meeting of many of the Scouts-L
people at the National Jamboree. Thanks to Bruce Johnson and Mike Walton for
setting that one up. A similar meeting took place at 1994 NOAC. It was great
to have faces to go with the names.

There have been many times that I have been able to get information quickly via
Scouts-L. It is a wonderful resource populated by some of the most interesting
people I know. In addition I've enjoyed being able to share in the lives of
the other members of the list.

Thanks, Jon. You've been a real driving force in making all of this possible.

YiS,
Fred Rogers
