Background Information - Jerry Lloyd

Jerry Lloyd (JDL1939@AOL.COM)
Sun, 29 Jun 1997 13:06:34 -0400

Hi, my name is Jerry Lloyd, I was born Sept. 9,1939 in Ogallala, Neb. I
live in St. Louis, Mo. and I am a District Commissioner in the North Star
District of the Greater St. Louis Area Council. I was in Scouting 4 years as
a youth and made it to First Class when the unit I was in went belly-up.
Back then there were very few units around so I had to drop out of Scouting.
I returned to Scouting 15 years ago when my son was a Bear in Cubs. I
followed him through Scouting and he earned his Eagle just before his 18th
birthday in Oct'89.
I was a Webelos leader, assistant Scoutmaster, and Varsity Coach. I went
to Wood Badge in 1984 and was a Brazen Buffalo. I served on Wood Badge Staff
this past spring in St. Louis, C-31L-97. I have served on almost all the
Council/District training staffs: Cub Scout Leader, Boy Scout Leader, BLT,
JLTC, Den Chief Conf., POW WOW, TTT, Webelos Overnight, etc. I have been Cub
Leader Training Chairman, Distrist Training Chairman, and Council Den Chief
Conference Course Director.
I was inducted into the OA in 1984 and received the Vigil Honor in '91. I
have been serving as the Ceremonial Team advisor for 10 years.
I received the Silver Beaver Award in '95.

I am looking forward to being a part of the group and believe this will be an
invaluable resourse to me.
