I believe the new requirements are more detailed and, I believe, more
difficult. I can't see why any Scout would CHOOSE to do these requirements
instead of the current ones.

I can understand the emphasis on the financial aspects. It is appalling how
little most people today know about any of these things - like investment
vehicles, insurance, bank accounts, etc. This should create a much broader
base of knowledge of the financial area than the old requirements.
I like the "live alone" requirement which is clearly aimed at the high
school senior looking to go to college. However, I think MOST Scouts will
choose the other alternative for that requirement.
