Go for it, James. Nearly every pack (and troop and post) could use another
set of hands.

As for child-abuse concerns, that's why BSA has youth protection
guidelines: to protect youth members from abuse and to protect adult
leaders from false accusations. If the pack follows these rules, you
probably couldn't molest a child even if you wanted to.
