Drinking in Denmark

This is great that Marie-L felt comfortable telling us this different
experience. Keep it up Scouters of the World.
For us USrs with real experiences with wild drunkenness by college students,
including my own, alcholics on corners of our major cities, drunk drivers
killing pedestrians, closet alcholics abusing their wives and children
during a Super Bowl Game it is hard to imagine a place like Denmark where
drunk might mean a bit groggy and not able to get a great jump on the day
right out of the bedroll. The thouht that you a Denmarkeen would laugh
because
they didn't have the personal integrity to control themselves the night
before
by their personal consumption whether of wine or food is qu
In Denmark can you describe how much alcohol is considered normal in
percent and quantity before bed. Do you also follow a meal plan that
will reduce alcohol's effects. Does your local council or scout group
have guidelines that you follow. e.g. Two 14% 4 ounce glasses of red
wine or two 12oz 7% beers started 2 hours before bed after a pasta type
or other carbohydrate intensive meal.
I can't imagine anyplace except Minnesota that US scout adults could handle
this type of experience so we might have to be a lot more rigid due to our
realization that most of our US adults can too easily accept BAD behavior
and still think they are still Scouting Adults.
We in the US recently did have a major company in the pharamacutical business
from your neck of the woods or (Tundra) close to your home where drunkeness
and sexual abuse of young female employees made the headlines in Business
Week.
The company was and is a success here in the US, so even in your neck of the
woods I guess alcohol can get out of hand in terms of human values.
Everyplace in the world is a bit different and maybe OK for a time.
I personally have observed that people are mostly the same so I still support
the USA's No Alcohol Limited Smoking policy plus a pile of other US things.
