1950 jambo Scout

SCOUTS-L; Need help to find out whatever happened to Life Scout Billy
Petersen, Troop 38, near Hungry Horse, near Missoula, MT. Billy is the
12 year-old Scout pictured on the cover of Life Mag., dated July 24,
1950, under the title of "A Boy Scout Goes To The Jamboree." His SM was
Rex Wickenkamp, a construction worker, & his father ran a filling
station on Highway 2. Life did an excellent job covering Billy's
adventure to & at the 1950 National Jamboree, held at Valley Forge, PA.
As his mother was a Den Mother (I don't know if this is an out-dated
term or not), I must assume that Billy was a Cub. Life says he joined
the Scouts in September 1949. By July 1950, he was a Life Scout, holding
24 merit badges. I would like to know if this tiger went on to Eagle &
if it is possible, what ever happened to him. I remember as a youngman,
reading the article, at the same time following the news of the
out-brake of the Korean War. Does anyone have any information?
