I wish to tap the collective wisdom of the list;
Our Troop has several Scouts 'stuck' on 2nd class
requirement 1b:
"Using a compass and a map you've drawn, take a 5 mile hike
(or 10 miles by bike) approved by your adult leader and your
parent or guardian."
How does your Troop handle this requirement?
Do your Scouts do this as individuals or as a group project?
How do they draw the map with out taking the hike first?
(We call this a 'chicken and egg' situation)
Our Troop is trying to find a more organized way to help our Scouts
complete this requirement - if you have a method that works well, we
would really like to see if will work for us.
To reduce list traffic, you may send your responses to the e-address
below and I will summarize the answers to the list.
TIA!
YIS,
Hunter
