<New SM in August. Should all ASMs hand in their patches
<to the new SM - since we are all acting, today, as assistants
<to the current Scoutmaster>
I've been an assistant in many troops, and SM of one. IMHO,
any GOOD Scoutmaster would be horrified if all the assistants
turned in their patches to him! (quit). The current assistants
have a wealth of information that the new SM can use immediately,
Perhaps a better way for the assistants to show support for
the new SM would be a quiet chat over coffee. The ASMs (and
committee) can welcome the new SM, asking questions and
offering help.
Point 2: the ASMs do not work for the current SM. They work
-WITH- the current SM and for the Chartered Organization who
sponsors the troop.
