Re: Adult smokers - a perspective

I think you are missing something, many of the comparisons (fat, lactose
intolerance) are natural things and DON'T HARM OTHERS, but smoking does. So
when you smoke it's not just you that is smoking it's all the people around
you. Now I don't want to get into a argument about second hand smoke, it's
not just that, it the smell on clothes, the having to breath it, and it
getting in peoples eyes (my problem with contacts). Now I am in the
Emergency Services Industry and I do CPR, and other things to people who
smoke and they aren't bad people or anything it's just that I wish that
they would quit making decisions for everyone around them.

If it takes courage to stand up and speak, it takes even more courage to
sit down and listen.

: youth. But I learned a valuable lesson a few weeks ago from a dear
friend
: who is a smoker. We were at work and one of the guys and I were picking
: on my friend the smoker. You know, well there she goes, it's 10AM etc.
: She turned around this time and really chewed us out. Would we do this
to
: someone who's fat, would she pick on me for my lactose intolerance? The
: answer is - no, we probably wouldn't.
