As a christian, I, too, have a little trouble with some of these
stories. In my troop we have christian, buddist, jewish, islamic and
unchurched boys. (Talk about a brew!) I try not to worry too much
about the theology if the message is in keeping with the Scout Oath and
Law. I usually preface these stories with "some say," or "legend has
it." It's the message that's important. In our "Scouts Owm, the
Chaplain's Aid uses prayers from many faiths, and the readings come from
many places.
