Well, I've always thought Mr. Coward's given name *was* spelt with an
e-umlaut, but that's a different issue entirely.
If Powell is rhymed with no-ul, then it also rhymes with the German Pohl.
And, somehow, although Lord B-P may say it that way, I *seriously* doubt
his Cockney char did likewise! <VBG>
