The chasm between US Scouting, and the rest of the world

GOTCHA!! Thought the message header might get a few people in.

Seriously I would like to avoid these flame wars that erupt from time to
time her on scouts-l, I would also like to beg people to take stuff out of
general posting that is between people - or replys. I am a college student
(at close to 40 it is difficult), and to spend hours climbing through
Scouts-L is tiring (to say the least) and very time consuming.

As leaders I feel this area should be for discussion about Scouting
activities, I admit, I have no interest about Blue and Gold Dinners, Courts
of Honour. What I really like to read about is Cub Packs, Scout Troops
doing things, the program and what benefits it had. I know our American
friends would freak out with half the things I do with my Cub Scouts - in
three weeks I am taking 7 Cubs and 4 other leaders to another state for a 4
day camp under canvas - the youngest Cub is 8, and her parents are not
going!! This involves a 12 hour bus trip either way.

I would like to see program ideas here, too many people try to exert their
personal beliefs and feelings on others. I enjoy talking with other leaders
about their Scouting, so come along and talk about what we do that is right
(or what went wrong in another programme) - so we may share and enjoy
ourselves.
