Re: Parrot joke

Come on, let's lighten up a little.

If the problem with the joke is that the parrot is swearing, then change
the irritation to talking incessantly. The point is that the parrot
provided an irritant and received punishment which increased in
harshness when the parrot failed to modify its behavior. Maybe the
parrot was spouting off religiously fanatic sermons, perhaps it was
commenting on the weather all day long, perhaps it was discussing Plato
and Socrates' philosophy at all hours of the day and night.

Maybe it was critiqueing jokes that could be told to Cub Scouts... :)

Be creative. Adjust the joke to the audience. Swearing is not a
critical part of the joke.
