BOR-Scheduling-ADD ON

Cindy Rocus (Smokeyccs4@AOL.COM)

This is to add to my original post re:BOR scheduling. I realize all
districts are different and in our district the average wait is 7-10 days
from the date requested (per Dist Adv.). My son has been PL, SPL and is
currently ASPL he has been to JLT as well as held other responsibilities and
also in the OA so he has no problem with position of responsibility or "scout
spirit". I do understand people not wanting to "jump" for kids however, I
have served on Eagle BOR with 1day notice. When I spoke to the Dist Adv.
Chair he said "we could have it tonight" I said no since I know I would
rather give a couple of days notice then it was cancelled again. My son then
spoke to CC and asked "why" and he was then told a "lie" (fact) Although I
did not explain all in my first post and some details have been omited due to
length I have been asked "what" is the hold up and "why" are they taking so
long by some of our troop committee since they also have "jumped" for a BOR
(so I know that we had committee available). What happened to recognize a
boy when earned? I do know that they have "asked" him for more than our past
eagles and he has done EVERYTHING asked of him without complaining his t's
are crossed and i's dotted. I do not feel that I am asking anything more for
my son that has not been given to others but why ask "more" of him than
others since "age" is not a factor.
Sorry to babble on but wanted to add more details.
