Hi,

I am basing my information on Leader Training Awards on info gleaned from
the 1996 printing of Leadership Training-Committee Guide; Plans, Procedures,
Materials (No.34169)

There are actually 6 ways to earnthe Key. Scoutmaster, Commissioner, Skipper,
Varsity Scout Coach, Explorer Advisor (or Service Team member) andDistrict
Committee Member.

>Funny you don't know about the Scouters' Training Award. It is available

>recently to, as you stated, District volunteers.>

The Training Award is listed as being available for the following: Boy Scouting,
Varsity Scouting, Exploring, Sea Exploring, and Cub Scout and/or Boy Scout
Roundtable staff.

The major change from the information that Mike presented is the inclusion
of District Committee/Service Team Members to the KEY. And as a Commissioner
you earn the Arrowhead, then go on to the KEY, without the training award in
between.
