Pam:
One year we cleaned up a vacant lot at a busy intersection. We saved
*everything* we picked up. Most of it was recyclable, and was taken to the
nearest recycling center. What was left over we turned into "art" for
display at the next Pack Meeting. This way, they knocked off two
requirements: the conservation project and their art- related requirements.
And they had fun doing it! (You'd be amazed at what these young
imaginations can make garbage into!)
Oh - we also had a scavenger hunt for prizes, with a special prize for a
"golden can" hidden on the lot. Doing a Conservation Good Turn is great, but
a little added incentive really gets them moving!
Have fun!
