I have been to 2 Jamborees and so have both my sons (onece with troop and
once on staff). I borrowed a 2nd scout shirt from a friend for my second
shirt. I already had 2 pairs of shorts and many pairs of scout sox. I
remember sewing on the Jambo trrop numeral right over the existing troop
number. As a leader I was fortunate to keep my ASM patch, as I served
that office in both units. A Scout is clean. I washed sox and underwear
each day at Jambo and the shirts every 3rd day.
My sons had extra shorts from serving on camp staff. I loaned them one of
my shirts (each) and we made up required numerals. So there are ways to
cut the cost down, you do not have to buy all new 2 complete uniforms.
Also, the boys will spend much of everyday at Jambo in 'class B' uniform
(shorts and scout t-shirt of some sort).
