Lori - I have run up against other "unrelated" males as Tiger partners, and
have done some YPP study with our Pack. This will not solve your ENTIRE
problem, but -
Have the young man quickly fill out an Adult Leadership Application,
explaining it's required since he's not the Cub's parent. That will give you
some info, and will let him know this is serious stuff (being the adult
escort)!. You can quickly check his references. Be sure this same rule
applies to anyone else unrelated as a parent going on the trip.
Hey, chances are he's a fine person and maybe you'll have another
Scouter volunteer on your hands!!
Have fun - the Yorktown sounds like a great adventure.
