How cold is it...

Our troop went camping last weekend and boy was it cold. How cold
was it? Friday night it got down to a frigid -8 below and Saturday we
had a heat wave with a low of 8 above. We earned 64 degree points
towards our Troop's 100 degree patch and a few old timers went over
the 250 degree total mark. We give patches for 100, 250, 500 degree
below freezing and a Troop polar bear when the temp goes below 0 for
the night. One scout asked who he needed to file a law suit against to
not camp in February again. Other than the cold, the weather at Sipapu,
N.M. (just South of Philmont) was great and the sleding and tubing were
a blast. Every scout seemed to have a good time. YiS
