I think the Jamboree uniform issue is nation wide.
All boys now belong to the contingent troop, at least for the duration of
the jamboree. All insignia identifing unit status must be with the
contingent troop, not the boy's home troop. I suppose there may be a
similarity drawn to the woodbadge uniform.
As for cost, I know what you're saying. As one parent put it, the
contingent cost quoted by the council is the "base sticker price", there
is a lot added on to that figure by the time you're done.
