Silver Beaver

You make a valid point but the problem can be surmounted if people choose to
do so. I received mine in 1978. The resume sounded like me and, all of a
sudden, I was being escorted to the front by a 60 year Scouting legend - the
only person he ever nominated for a Silver Beaver.

My oldest son was in the Air Force at the time. Working through my wife,
they arranged for him and hs wife to be present. When I saw him he said they
just got in late and knew I would be at the banquet so they just came down.
My wife invited other friends also. My suspicions were never aroused.

My only regret is that I was so surprised that I remember little of what
happened and they won't give me another one! Either way it is a wonderful
experience.
