AOL Requirement (was Arrow of Light)

Obviously, the ideal is to have the boy move on to Scouting. And I think
an enthusiastic WL with an active program will cause this to happen.
However, I think it important not to read more than the BSA intended into the
requirement. The requirement should simply be taken at face value - nothing
more and nothing less. In this case, there is no requirement that the boy
must continue in Scouts. He simply needs to make a good faith effort to
find out
about a Scout troop and make sure the parent has that same opportunity. And
to
me this makes sense. A boy's AOL award should not be contingent on what he
intends to do when he is no longer a Cub Scout.
