Re: Recharter/Boys' Life subscription

Larry Jones WROTE:

I have paid in several of my positions, and normally receive mulitple copies of
Scouting, but this time only as CC of the Troop. I liked the copy I always recei
ved
as Unit Commissioner, because it had program helps (BS & CS) that weren't in
the others. The One's we got today, were Helpless too.

Larry,
I too have gone through the wringer on Boys Life/Scouter Magazines.

I stopped getting Scout magazine last January 96.I called the council
office and was told to reregister. In June I paid again to register and still no
magazines after 6 weeks. I went in again and asked. They told me they would
check and put me in again. In august, I wrote to the magazine in Irving,Texas
asking what the deal was. I have high confidence in my local council office and
did not believe the problem to be local. Several days later I got a call from
the council office saying that the subscription people had fixed the problem and
I would probably get them all at once. I got Octobers and Decembers. No BS helps
though.

Apparently if you are multiple listed they try not to send you two
copies. I think in my case I got neither the "cub" version or the "Boy Scout"
version of inserts. I am listed both in the pack and troop. No inserts is what
they send committee members.

I am still waiting as we rechartered in January 97 to see what I get
this year.

Have not lost hope yet,
