Re: Web Pages Updated

Ouch! Cheryl caught me in one of the "Web Page Traps" when she wrote:

I am very guilty of this on my homepage! However, at least the graphics
(and the Sousa) are relatively slow files. I haven't heard if others have
trouble with them. The reason for doing it this way was that the pages were
originally built on an ISP where I could not upload *anything* and later in
my naivete did not want to use space to store something that was already
elsewhere. I'll have to rethink that.

>I run my browser with the graphics off. MUCH faster. Not as cute, but

This is good. Also, be kind to those without graphical browsers or those
who do as Cheryl does: use imagemaps sparingly. Sure they look good, but
unless it's a great map - and I've seen some wonderful ones that *really*
add to the page - think about not using it. If you do use it, give a text
option for those not seeing it.

(FWIW, I violate this on a non-Scouting page where I use both frames and an
imagemap! But I give alternatives to escape both.)

Any other traps?
