In '95 we did the the same theme. A really big hit was the construction
and use of catapults. The younger kids built theirs from wooden spoons &
rubber bands, etc. I have plans @ home I can sent if interested. The
Webelos built theirs out of wood and worked on them all week during the
crafts session. Marshmallows make good (and safe) ammo!
A good resource might be the local chapter of the Society for Creative
Anachonrism. Do you know any falconers? Check with your state's
conservation or natural resources department. How about a local wildlife
rehabilitor who could bring in injured birds of prey and talk about them?
I have more ideas but I'd have to check my files.
