17 Eagles, one COH

Dave Rogers (DA6ver6@AOL.COM)

Did I mention the reason I was frantically looking for music to the Philmont
Hymn and Trail the Eagle? Well, it's a production.

Seventeen boys from our Troop are receiving their Eagle badges at one giant
Court of Honor March 9. A couple of these guys have been in position of their
badge for awhile, but have never had a ceremony. Of the others, several are
in the about-to-be-18-and-too-old category and several are 15 or so. One
thing led to another and, well, things have been hopping at the Council
office with Boards of Review.

So the natural question is, who's heard of bigger Courts of Honor involving
more Eagles FROM THE SAME TROOP?

I've started making some contacts with the local media -- TVs and newspapers
-- but I'm thinking I could do more on a grander scheme. Am currently putting
together a press release totalling all their merit badges and Eagle project
manhours, etc., but I'm looking for some stats from Scouts.

You guys tell me what's relevant, how big a deal is this?

Like yesterday, I've got to admit I'm not that faithful a reader of my
downloaded digest each day ... so I'm asking that you send your replies
directly to me at DA6ver6@aol.com instead of posting them to the list.

I always know I can count on SCOUTS-L to bail me out. I was pointed in the
right direction for my music question (they're in the BSA Songbook). Thanks
again.

Dave Rogers
