Re: Camping (long)

Sounds like you have a great program, I'm envious. I've canoed on the
Myakka when I was young and impressionable, its beautiful. I fished for
snook down that way too. Keep up the good work! I spent more time on
the Wekiva and Ichnatukni (sp) though. My permanent home is in Gulf
Breeze where the Blackwater flows.

I was afraid that my post would sound critical, but that wasn't my
intent. Thanks for being so understanding.

A nearly unrelated tale:

In my last council we had a Webelos leader who ran a Terrific Webelos II
program. It was so good that she kept the kids until December of their
6th grade so they could complete everything that she wanted them to do.
That was 9-12 months that these boys could have been Boy Scouts. Most
of my kids make first class in that time! I tried to get her to wean
them, all of us did. It wasn't until we wouldn't let them compete in
any District Webelos activities that the message sunk in. She still
around and just as committed to Scouting. I couldn't say anything bad
about her except that she may set her sight a little too high at times.
