Tax deductions for cookies

My understanding of the tax laws would allow a deduction only for
the priced paid over the value of the product recieved.

If you paid $3.00 per box, but could verify that they are only
worth $2.00 per box you could take a $1.00 deduction.

If any IRS agent ever ate a Girl Scout Cookie, you could never
convince him/her that the cookies are over priced.
