Jim (and anyone else who might be interested),

I share your irritation/frustration with those parents who do the
"drive by, drop off, come by later-or-late" routine. Up until a year ago, I
was a Cubmaster and Sr. Webelos leader (that's just our term for the
second year group). The one thing I kept reminding myself which
seemed to help was: Later in life, these kids may wonder why their
parents couldn't find time for them, but at least they will know that I
considered them worth my time. The time might have been frustrating,
but it did give me time with some kids who seemed to need the attenton
of an adult.
Just a thought.
