Pinewood Patches

Someone mentioned that if he stopped getting patches, every boy could go
home with a medal. Well, that's a great idea. But, just remember there are
some boys who LOVE to collect patches. And, they could be sorely
disappointed if they don't get one. Especially, if they have always gotten
them in the past. Not getting patches sounds like a great idea, but maybe
you should try to find out how many boys in your pack would rather have
patches. Or, try and get a committee vote on this decision? That way when
parents/boys ask where the patches are you're not left holding the bag. I
know about these boys from experience. My son is still waiting for his
popcorn patch (and pin if they have one this year.) There is nothing he
likes more than seeing something new sewn on his uniform shirt or his vest.
