Supply Division Status

Does anyone have any idea when the Supply Division will be able to start
shipping again? My latest info comes from the Philadelphia Scout Shop:

- Supply Division still can accept orders and put them in the queue.
- They can't ship anything until their computer system is going again.
- The Philly shop hasn't received any shipments this year.
- Scout Shops can call an 800 number to locate items in the inventory
at other Scout Shops.

When our Cubmaster called Supply Division to find out when we would get our
Pack flag, he was told a couple of months (it was mail ordered in early
December). When he asked what was taking so long, he was told about the
computer problems, and they asked him why he didn't FAX the order. He told
them that the catalog clearly states that FAX orders for flags will not be
accepted. When he asked to speak to a supervisor, he was quickly connected
to a dial tone.

Does anyone know how we can contact Supply Division to get some straight
answers? It would be nice if we could get some official statement from
them to help ease the disappointment at Blue & Gold, when half our Cubs
have to wait for their badges. Maybe we could convince someone to send a
notice for posting and distribution at the local Scout Shops? I'm sure the
front-liners at the Scout Shops wouldn't mind having something official to
point at when they're trying to soothe irate customers.
