If you do have problems getting lots of messages from a mailing list and
not logging on for a day or two, you could try changing to the digest
version of the list. Most lists, including Scouts-L, provide this
service, whereby you get 1 e-mail each day containing all the messages
posted to the list. I find it very handy so I can subscribe to a couple
of busy lists and also pick out the personal e-mails I get.
To change your Scouts-L setting to digest, post a message to
LISTSERV@TCUBVM.IS.TCU.EDU
(not the usual address used for message postings), containing the single
line
SET SCOUTS-L DIGEST
To change back again, send a message
SET SCOUTS-L MAIL
